I think it’s great that Findlay has finally finished the benching project. What would be great now is if the city updates its flood map so that property owners in those flood zones no longer have to pay flood insurance, like all my neighbors across the street. Unless of course they are planning to take more government funds (FEMA) to buy these homes for this plan they are drawing up

Flood Mitigation is done by the County not the City. The County is responsible for re-mapping. You should research this being you are running for office.
Bill, I AM researching it. I’m looking into the 2,000 properties our current Mayor wants to remove from the Floodplain. I’ve also contacted the Ohio Department of Natural Resources that have a draft on file. I’m doing the research as I ask the questions. I live in the flood zone in the heart of Findlay so I am paying close attention as this affects my property as well.
