Findlay’s Open Border to Illegal Immigrants

Have you ever wondered what 2,000 illegal immigrants might look like? Have you ever thought about the impact it would have on your city and its resources? Have you thought about the safety concerns it would cause in raising your family and letting your children run around the neighborhood? If not, perhaps now may be a good time to consider these thoughts.

Over the past several weeks the announcements have been made that Findlay will be embracing the immigrants coming into Findlay. While I have my own experiences with them and yes, I have embraced several of them, it is something totally different to open the borders of Findlay, as if it were the US-Mexico border, and invite people in. Number one reason being . . . no one asked the residents that call Findlay home and raising families here if this is the direction, they’d like to see our city go in.

In 2022 I was on the Stategic Planning committee as we were surveying the public with questions about our local government. One of the biggest concerns of Findlay residents were the illegal immigrants that were beginning to crowd the edges of our city. Concerns about the legality of them being here and safety for their families. These voices that I heard from concerned citizens are what helped shape my platform in my run for Mayor in the primaries. These concerns had remained unaddressed by Mayor Christina Muryn, until recently. In a letter to the community in November, Muryn said she had not written about “a group of legal individuals because she didn’t feel the need to call them out because they looked or sounded different”. She went on to say she could no longer allow rumors to create a narrative around these people. She said she needed to give this issue attention because there was ‘misinformation’ being spread online. In an op-ed in The Courier in November, she makes the statement, “I ask that you not feel entitled to approach their community directly to help but do so through nonprofits or organizations building a relationship with them.”

At the most recent Fresh Brewed Business event, Muryn makes the announcement that Findlay will work as a “Hub” for these immigrants then states at City Council the following day that she will be managing them as the “head chef” because there were too many cooks in the kitchen.

I’d like to point out a few things here.

1. The concern of the residents of Findlay residents was for their family’s safety. Families raising children here were concerned because they didn’t know if these immigrants had been vetted. Is it misinformation to ask questions when no one in the City of Findlay addresses the issue publicly, leaving us to wonder? While Muryn says non-profit organizations have their names, I’d like to ask if they’ve looked into the backgrounds of the immigrants to see if they have a criminal history. One concern is that according to Fox News, 30 people on the terror watch list have been encountered since October alone. How many have made it through as gotaways? Did you know that just last year an MS13 gang member was released on the streets of Findlay, Ohio. It was confirmed to me in a meeting with the Hancock County Sheriff while on the phone with a deputy. THESE were the concerns of the City of Findlay residents, NOT whether or not we were going to make our city their home.

Which leads me to . . .

2. At the Budget Hearing last week when 17 departments stood to speak, Captain Matthias said regarding the Haitian population that problems started with minor traffic violations but have since led to Domestic Violence, OVI and petty theft. Personally, that doesn’t give me any confidence in allowing them to enter our city seeing as crime rates could rise. He also said there is no understanding why the Mexican immigrants have no papers. Hmmm🤔 didn’t the mayor just say she wanted to correct the misinformation about these ‘legal’ individuals? Can anyone tell me where the misinformation is coming from? The Chief of Police or the mayor? 🧐or, is it the public for asking questions?

During a City Council meeting, Muryn also stated that if the immigrants didn’t have papers, she would be helping with that. Again, what does it mean if they don’t have papers? Isn’t that the meaning of Illegal Immigrants? Then why would she call them ‘legal’ individuals?

I’ve met several of them personally that have confessed to being here illegally. I have that on video.

3. Has anyone seen the lines at Walmart of these illegal immigrants sending out money? I’ve had personal experience with that as well. Thousands of dollars being sent to coyotes in mexico by the mexican immigrants for bringing people here and only God knows where the Haitian immigrants are sending their money. Is Findlay normalizing Human Trafficking?🤨

4. Lastly, I’m not sure if you’ve noticed the agenda that is being ushered in here, but . . . Its quite obvious to me. Embracing outsiders is something we should all do, and yes, I have and will continue to engage with them without hesitation. It’s not because I feel “entitled”, it’s because I am a compassionate person. HOWEVER, that is not what is happening here. Have your thought about what a “HUB” looks like or what that looks like for Findlay to be bringing in thousands of illegal immigrants, and housing them? Have you thought about the cost in our city? Interpretation costs alone in the courts are up 224% according to their budget hearing reports. Much of that in the last five months. Now add the monitoring and probation. More police time being consumed, our courts being consumed, our non-profits being consumed and our streets beginning to fill with illegal immigrants to push the Socialist agenda. Can you see what is happening in Findlay?

Well, I’m there. I’m Declaring an Emergency! Let’s not leave this verbiage solely to all the ordinances passed in our city. In my opinion, we are under attack. SMART 15 Minute #RadiationCity being built all around which Mayor Christina Muryn both denies she’s building and also publicly admits she’s not concerned about the technology they are using as they have done “extensive research”. Then inviting illegal immigrants, creating a #SanctuaryCity, and making Findlay a HUB for Human Trafficking.

People, It’s time to rise up and start speaking out people. Your silence means you go along with this. Think about what this means for the future of #FindlayOhio. Are you okay with this? I think it’s time to #RecallMuryn. How much more damage does the city endure before making this move?

Let me know your thoughts.
