State-Mandated Housing & Gentrification in Findlay

What does State-Mandated Housing & Gentrification mean for Findlay?

First I think we need to dive in to define what “Affordable Housing” means. While I’d like to break it down for you, we need to see how the City of Findlay defines it – they ARE the ones writing the Ordinances and manipulating things to fit their agenda. Step 1.

Ohio Section 42 Housing Program refers Internal Revenue Tax Code which provides tax credits to Investors who build ”Affordable Housing” in our city. And yes, the city needs to be more transparent in that respect. Not only do these investors receive subsidies from our local government, they also receive State & Federal Subsidies. This “Affordable Housing” also uses words in Ordinances to build like ‘urbanization’, ‘High density’, ’hikeable’ and ‘walkable’. Some states require verbiage to include “Farmworker housing” or “Agricultural Worker” in order to qualify for these funds.

Let’s look at what’s happening in Findlay now . . . Project Hat Trick (Sheetz) who will soon be building a facility here. Sheetz is a food processing/distribution center. Would being a food distribution company qualify them to tap into the “Farm Worker / Agricultural Worker” subsidies provided by Federal, State & Local governments for ‘Affordable Housing’?🤔

Given that Habitat for Humanity and Andrew Yates are looking to build “Affordable Housing”, I have to ask, is this the part where we move the Illegal Immigrants that they call ‘Migrants’ into these neighborhoods.

You know, this sounds like Obama 2.0 where he said he would be building Section 8 Housing into the Subarbs🤔 only thing now is that they have changed all the verbiage.

In case you hadn’t noticed, Findlay is fast tracking our city to a Democratic Socialist agenda. Quite honestly, I think Mayor Muryn needs to be recalled as she ran as a Republican which is HIGHLY deceiving. She has abused her office and the Voters trust. In all honesty, I personally think I may have won the primaries. The Board of Elections definitely needs audited. As far as the race, people should think about the fact that the ONE person that opposed her was a friend who she’s gone to church with for over 20 years. There should have been 5-10 people in that race . . . Or more.

So, with all this information I have a ion questions, as usual.

– Has Findlay applied for the Labor Housing Direct grants that expired 11/1/22?

-is Findlay giving subsidies to these builders? Is the Farmworker verbiage added to these funds? Even if not, is it anywhere in any of the building process?

-What subsidies are these investors receiving for this “Affordable Housing”?

Findlay, it’s time we come together, look at the big picture and start asking the questions about the trajectory of our city. Call & email your councilman, Council-at-Large and your Mayors office. This is a call to action💪🏼
