Patricia (Patty) Klein is running for Findlay City Council Ward 3. Here’s why . . .

“Nurtured Candidates”

I became a candidate for the 3rd Ward City Council seat because I attended many city council meetings and observed a very unbalanced group of city council representatives. Nine representatives sit before the people and pass legislationon that has apparently been discussed in a back room and implemented by suspending rules and rushing through their plans. I decided to run for City Council simply because I wanted a better city council that respects the will of the residents of Findlay. I am an individual with thoughts and ideas about how our city can thrive with more input from the public. I am and will continue to be a good steward of a community that appreciates the great family environment and solid moral foundations that out city is built on

Recently, a campaign letter has been circulated asking for money to support a group of candidates who have pledged to support the agenda of our current city administration. This means they support more expansion of our city by annexation, poorly planned plopping of businesses into our cornfields, and reckless spending of your tax dollars on unnecessary plans and projects by the millions.

The letter in circulation is signed by Mary Beth Hammond, Tom Lause, David Glass and Councilman Dan DeArment. It describes candidates they do not support as extremists who are such a threat to the current city councilmen, that they have decided not to rerun for office. It describes the candidates who they do not support as dangerous to our city. The letter says that those candidates have conspired to “take over” the city.

I could not be more insulted by these disgusting false claims. I have conspired with no one. My thoughts and ideas are my own after talking with other residents who want more input, more sunlight on the plans and direction of our city. I do not appreciate being painted with a wide brush to support a very incorrect picture of the candidate that I am.

I will continue to let the people of the 3rd ward know that I will listen to them and bring their message to city council. I will help vet the plans of our city administration and gather opinions on those plans.

My logo was intentionally designed to include a shining sun. That sun means the dawning of a new perspective, sunlight on plans, and a new, more balanced city council.

I ask for your vote as an individual with your cares in mind, not as a candidate “nurtured” and supported by money in exchange for unchecked predetermined outcomes.
