Change has been needed in Findlay for quite some time and Letters to the editor express that clearly

On Monday, January 9, 2023 a letter was written to The Courier by a frustrated resident that said it’s time to take notice and make a drastic change. Bruce Boguski was responding to the 2022 Strategic Plan where the mayor complained about low turnout for meetings and no comments on the Strategic Plan which meant The People agreed. He responded by saying it didn’t matter what public opinion was, “this administration will do what they darn well please anyway!” And boy, isn’t that the truth? He went on to name a few key issues:

-bike paths

-one way streets

-traffic islands

-declaring an emergency at council meetings curtailing readings of an issue. This issue has been raised several times by myself, Auditor Jim Staschiak and others that have communicated this to City Council over the past few years. In 2023 86% of Ordinances were “Declaring an Emergency”. A good question to ask, just as Auditor Jim Staschiak just did at Tuesdays City Council meeting on March 18, 2025, what constitutes an “Emergency”? Law Director Rob Feighner could not answer that question.

-money spent for almost every project in Findlay going to Planning Next

-Frivolous spending

-immigrants in hotels by I-75

Mr. Boguski suggested we could start change by replacing the RINO-infested GOP that are inexperienced, unqualified, apathetic office holders who are controlled by dark money and local big industry.

Fast-Forward to today and it seems that nothing has changed. Mayor Muryn and her Administration have become brazen in their agenda becoming rude and disrespectful in responses to the people they vowed to serve. You can see her pride in the way she responds to residents as if she’s the smartest girl in the room. It’s absolutely disgusting. There is no humility in her when she is called out for conflicts of interest like the one of sitting on the Board of the YMCA while using taxpayer dollars for a demolition project for them. There was no humility when she was caught changing legal documents for the TIF projects that she threw down Councils throat practically demanding this Ordinance be passed by 2024 year-end. It doesn’t matter what the issue, Mayor Muryn has proven that she does NOT work for We The People and because of that, The People have to bring the change.

This election cycle, be sure to keep up with the candidates and vote in the primaries! It will be obvious who the Grassroots citizens are that want to bring change, I am one of them, and who the “Mayors Candidates” are that will simply be more RUBBERSTAMPS for her ridiculous agenda. Those of us that care about Government overspending, illegal immigrants in our community and want to pause the $40 MILLION park to take to the ballot are being called “Extremists”. Isn’t that something?
